got OJT?
Summer does not always mean vacation, beach or bumming all day doing nothing. For incoming senior students, summer is also the time to look for Internships or On-the-Job Trainings. Back when I was an incoming fourth year student (don’t dare ask what year), my friends and I would spend a whole day or two, just looking for a company that would offer internship for our course. We also tried looking online, but most of the online job companies don’t prioritize on students looking for OJTs. My friends all had their OJTs at Pacific Internet except for me because I wasn’t really sure if I’m enrolling that year. oh well, enough about me.
I got this email from Ms. Ina Raquedan, asking for my help. Her email states:
I’m sure that you already know, but finding an OJT/Internship as a student is pretty hard. There isn’t a real resource out there and as a student, we always end up getting stuck working in a boring company unrelated to our field, or we end up with a good company, have the work that’s right for us, but we end up making coffee for the bosses or stapling documents for them. It’s a classic, I know.
That’s why we decided to join together and come up with a real resource that would actually benefit students, whether from a private school or a university (after all, we are the future of the country right). We came out with a website called OJTCareers.com, which would bridge the gap between the students and employers and ultimately show them that we’re already competent enough for a real job. It is basically a free website that allows students to find available OJT jobs online.
Ina and her friends created OJTCareers.com that will serve as their OJT and also as a project to help their fellow students having troubles looking for Internships. This website caters to every student of different majors, that all you have to do is do a search on what kind of internship you are looking for and voila! if you like what you found, you can just attach your CV on that page and submit it. Kids nowadays, they had it easy. hahaha. :)
so, if you are a student and you still don’t have any idea what you want for your Internship, why not visit OJTCareers.com. :)
